From Waste to Wetlands: Eco-Innovation Design Challenge

Welcome to From Waste to Wetlands, a national innovation challenge empowering young change makers across Vietnam to turn plastic waste into purpose-driven solutions.
This program invites Vietnamese youth aged 18–30 to design floating garden models made from recycled plastic, aimed at improving water quality and restoring biodiversity in urban rivers—starting with the Mekong Delta.

What to Expect
✅ Online Training Workshops
Join weekly sessions with international and local experts in environment, design, and engineering. Learn about wetlands, plastic recycling, circular design, finance management and pitching skills.
✅ Financial & Technical Support
Receive seed funding and recycled materials to bring your model to life—your ideas, backed by practical resources.
✅ Expert Mentorship
Work alongside multidisciplinary mentors guiding your team from concept to implementation.
✅ Real-World Deployment
Selected models will be piloted in Can Tho City, with support from local authorities and environmental specialists.
✅ Awards & Recognition
Top teams will receive up to €500 in prizes and the opportunity to showcase their models nationally and internationally
Who Can Apply?
We welcome teams of 2 Vietnamese citizens, aged 18–30, who are:
🎓 University students or postgraduate learners
🌱 Members of youth-led organizations or startups
🎨 Designers, engineers, innovators, or environmental advocates
👥Passionate individuals in environment, engineering, design, or sustainability 💡
(Individual applications not accepted; team-matching support available.)
How to Apply
Your application package should include:
